Yes! I have used only my barehands to catch fish since the tender age of six and by nine years of age I was providng, with my fathers blessing, fish for my family. My father said, "son, take some bread and cheese when you go to the river to fish." This was my way of life for many summers growing up in Bulgaria.
My country was under a communist government and I escaped from Bulgaria to Turkey in 1966, then to Italy in 1967 and I finally made it to America in 1968.

Recently I happened to watch a program on "The Survival Man" on the National Geographic Channel on television. He was in Canada and he found a small piece of fish left over from an eagle. How old was that piece of fish? He did not know, but proceeded to eat it anyway. This upset me because you sure don't want to get sick in the woods!
